Cupping Therapy at Troy City Cryolounge
Since Ancient Times...
... Professional Athletes Today!
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist uses special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. The objective is to improve blood circulation and Qi (energy) by removing and eliminating stagnation of any kind from the body.
Today cupping therapy has become widely used by the day to day person and professional athletes.

Types of Cupping
Dry cupping: the cups are placed on intact skin. Suction is created on particular points of the body by using an air pump to siphon out the cup.
Wet cupping: used to remove blood from specific joints on the surface of the body by applying a dry cup over tiny incisions made on the skin beforehand.
Massage: Massage cupping is the combination of massage movement and negative pressure with the use of dry cups on the skin.
